This Friday Evan received his cranio cap. We have yet to decorate it but are thinking to place viking football stickers on it. He will wear this for 2-3 months to round out the flat spot on his head. He does not seemed bothered by it at all and remains his good natured self. We went hiking as a family this weekend and enjoyed the wonderful weather.

This weekend Matt was out of town on a business trip and Evan and I stayed busy. On Friday we had a few friends over with their children. It is fun to see Evan interact with other babies (even if he is trying to roll over them). We went boating on Saturday on Lake Minnetonka with Evan's adopted Aunt and Uncle, Jethra and Dwayne. Evan did great on the boat and I enjoyed visiting with friends and being outdoors.

Evan has now graduated to solid foods, well at least rice cereal. After he ate 11oz in once sitting while at the babysitters I thought that his appetite might handle the cereal better than before. He loved it! We had a great weekend but were glad when Matt returned home. Evan was so excited that he stayed up extra late to play with his dad (past midnight).

Evan has now slept thru the night. Two of the last three nights Evan has slept for 8 hours without waking!! I am such a proud mama!
We went to the doctors this week to see about his flast spot on the back of his head and we have decided to fit him for a helmet. This helmet plus physical therapy will correct his flat spot. We are told that the helmet bothers the parents more than it bothers the babies so we will wait and see (lets hope that this does not stop him from sleeping thru the night). He will start wearing this on July 24th. Matt is already thinking about how to make the helmet into a Vikings Football helmet.
Evan and I also started attending a parenting class with other babies and their moms. There are six other babies and two are just a couple days yonger than Evan. We are hopeful to meet some new friends!
This week he has really started to enjoy playing his his car because this allows him to bounce even more than before.

Happy 4th of July! Matt and I had a great time yesterday enjoying the Apple Valley parade with Evan. Evan should have been tired during the parade but he wasnt about to miss the bands, trucks and horses. He sat on our laps and watched wided eyed during the entire parade. Unfortunately our camera ran out of batteries and so we have no pictures of the 4th.
Evan tried rice cereal for the first time but he wasnt quite sure of the consistancy and spit it all up afterwards... so I think we will wait until he is 6 months before trying again.
We also enjoyed a picnic with Matt during one of his lunch breaks.
